We’ll begin our journey at a gateway to the underworld and end at a gateway to the otherworld. On this elemental pilgrimage through the magnificent Brecon Beacons, we’ll follow the footsteps of our Mesolithic , Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Age Ancestors to sacred thresholds, to standing stones, tumbling waterfalls, mountain tops, river sources, to mystical lakesides and along mythic Roman roads. Each step will be steeped in Archaeology, story, song and an honouring of the land and of each other. Hope you can make it!

In terms of terrain, being the Brecon Beacons, expect more ups and downs, but we’ll take thing at a steady pace and rest regularly, though this really is a pilgrimage for the relatively fit. The good news is that you’ll develop endurance through the pilgrimage, and the better news is that there will be spectacular views from the top. And the best news of all, is that we will have deserved our pub suppers at the end of the day.

£235 per person, to include accommodation, guiding, breakfast and packed lunch. As usual on Footsteps of Ancestors, we’ll feast at some great country inns in the evenings.
