About the event
Come and join us to listen to the land at the height of summer, in the meadows and beneath the boughs of Dinefwr Park. Together we’ll explore age-old practices to help deepen our relationship with the web of life and respond creatively in whichever way appeals to you: writing, drawing, painting, song or poetry.
No previous experience is necessary, just an open, enquiring mind and a desire to deepen your connection with the land and the natural world.
While we will be walking around Dinefwr park, the areas in which we plan to work are accessible to wheelchairs. Contributions during the day are welcomed in both Welsh and English. The sessions are suitable for ages 12 +
Angharad Wynne is an author, storyteller, pilgrimage and retreat leader with a wealth of experience working to connect people with nature. Simmy Singh is a classical violinist on a mission to use music to heal our broken relationship with the natural world. She is an Arts Council of Wales Future Wales Fellow, and these events form a part of her focussed year of development work, bringing art and environment into deeper connection.
Along the way Simmy and Angharad will be gathering words and phrases, snippets of song and music that arise or are inspired by our work together. These will be brewed further in the cauldron of inspiration until a new song emerges - a song that will be shared freely with all, around camp fires, on pilgrimages, at gatherings - a song that gives voice to the land.
