The ancient myths of the Mabinogi often feel inaccessible and alien, but they hold rich, ancient lore and were probably teaching stories, aspects of which date back to Celtic prehistory and beyond, and yet they continue to hold profound story-medicine for us today. 

In this series of Tuesday evening salons, we'll explore the stories and consider different ways of understanding the female characters - from literary, mythological, archaeological and cultural contexts. Angharad will introduce the stories, then tell them in sections and offer certain perspectives before opening the discussion and encouraging the sharing of further ideas and insights from the group. The aim of each evening is to allow participants to become more familiar with each story in turn and to explore different ways of understanding the key female characters in the hope of stimulating creativity, ideas and discussion and to build a creative community.
