About the event
The ancient myths of the Mabinogi hold rich, ancient lore and were probably teaching stories, aspects of which date back to Celtic prehistory and beyond, and yet they continue to hold profound story-medicine for us today.
In this series of Tuesday evening salons, we'll delve deep into these ancient stories and consider different ways of understanding the mythic and mystical relationship between some of the main protagonists and the totemic animals with which they're profoundly associated. We'll explore these relationships through literary, mythological, archaeological and cultural lenses. Angharad will introduce the stories, characters and their associated creatures, and offer certain perspectives before opening the discussion and encouraging the sharing of further ideas and insights from the group. The aim of each evening is to allow participants to become more familiar with the stories and their cultural context, while also exploring different ways in which these extraordinary tales offer valuable insights…
