About the event
We have been gathering around fires during the midwinter season here in Britain for over five thousand years - and for good reason: we need company and conviviality to keep us going through the darkest part of the year. So we thought we'd light a fire and gather to it at beautiful Dinefwr. Please come and join violinist Simmy Singh, storyteller and author Angharad Wynne and friends for a gloriously restorative midwinter weekend of traditional stories, music, song and ceremony to celebrate the darkness of midwinter and the returning light. Imbolc or Gwyl y Golau in Cymraeg, marks the end of the midwinter season, but the nights are still long and we need the nourishment of friendship and the old things of humankind to keep away the winter blues.
